This is a great story that has been largely ignored by much of the media. Not surprising since the media benefits from military commanders running their mouths. The story was covered by ABC but there just has not been a lot of talk about it.

Nick from Ranger Up has just released the second in a series of four videos for Veterans on How to get a Job. This one focuses on the resume and is a “must-see” for any veterans who do not have extensive experience on resume writing.

Well then you need to check out the new video series that Nick Palmisciano (past guest on You Served Radio) , who is a former Army Ranger and CEO of Ranger Up has come out with. Nick has released the first of four videos giving sage advice and guidance on how to sell yourself as a veteran to a potential employer.

About 2 months ago we had Jay Platt on You Served Radio. He was on the October 11th show (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/youserved/2011/10/12/episode-163-jay-platt-and-happy-new-year-film) telling us about how he has raised money for  and awareness of our wounded warriors. He told us how he was planning to swim across the Mississippi  blindfolded, handcuffed and shackled. Oh did I mention he has a rare form of Cancer and has already lost eyesight in one eye? Jay is very inspirational and really puts feeling sorry for oneself into perspective.

This is a great program that I never even thought about or considered as a need. I wonder how wide-spread this is or if it is just based on the time volunteered at each hospital.

It seems like when the US Navy makes a video, the PC police come screaming and some poor leader has their career ruined. I am glad to see the British Navy and more specifically the crew of the HMS Ocean in the spirit of Christmas and has a sense of humor. Good job Mates!

Last year Gina was given a brand-new 2011 VW Beetle by Oprah Winfrey and rather than keep it and use it herself, she is auctioning it off to raise money for our troops. 18 years ago today Operation Gothic Serpent took place in a little unknown (at the time) place called Mogadishu, Somalia. Yes the Battle now known as Black Hawk Down happened.

The interview below is with Keni Thomas who is now a country music recording artist and author, but 18 years ago he was a Team Leader with Task Force Ranger in “The Mog”.

We are working with Keni to have him on You Served Radio soon after he gets back from his current USO tour.  Believe it or not he just ran into our very own CJ Grisham who is currently deployed to Afghanistan while on the tour.

This final clip in the Remembering 9/11 series that has run here on the You Served Blog is from National Geographic TV. This is from the interview they aired recently of President Bush. This particular clip is of the former President talking about that morning and what he thought and felt as he was told about the first plane hitting the World Trade Center and then the second one.

This video clip is of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld holding his first press briefing in the Pentagon on the day of the attacks. In fact this briefing happened just hours after the SecDef was outside helping evacuate wounded from the Pentagon.
