I am a veteran. I served from 1982 to 1989 in regular army and I am constantly denied without giving a reason. Can someone tell me why?

Irena,

As much as my heart breaks for both you and your husband, this is beyond the scope of our blog and we can’t legally suggest anything here beyond the general advice given above as we aren't doctors and can't diagnose or treat your husband's PTS.

The VA has, however, put together resources that can be found here: http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/where-to-get-help.asp. Please take a look and never stop trying to help you husband.

Irena, Hi, My name is Tracy. I am not married to a Veteran but I am the 38 yr old child of one. I have seen it all, from the severe drug abuse to him hating my mom, he threatens to kill us at least 2 or 3 times a year, drinks all of the time. So you name it and I have probably seen it. I have had him put in the VA for treatment but they didnt help at all. I wish so bad that something, anything, could be done to help him. Every once in a while he is so kind and loving but it is all very short lived. I have gotton to were I wish I lived very far away so I didnt have to deal with it.

Thank you for covering this. Most of Veterans votes are not being counted. Because of having to deal with physical & medical disabilities many Veterans are homeless. They will not count Veterans votes.

I am a retired CSM, US Army. I read this story and others that say similar things and felt compelled to do something. His spouse shouldn't have to be left on her own. Our nation owes her.

So, I started this FB page tonight and will work on it every night until something changes.

Hi Vernice, sorry am just getting back but I am new to this site and was unaware that you had replied to my question. I did read the DoD Financial Managemnt Regulation and I had seen this before which is why I am asking the question why did I have to repay my SSB payment. I left the military in 1999 upon completion of the three years of reserve duty we had to agree to. My understanding is that the member affected by this recoupment of SSB is member who became eligible for retired pay. Its my understanding that if you did not retire, go back on active duty or take a govenment job within 180 days after you left the military you would have to repay the SSB payment. I dont understand VA is recoupmenting my SSB payment just because I was granted a disability rating. please e mail me at dhm1996@yahoo.com Thank you for your help
