I can’t tell you how pissed I was to read this:
The father of a Marine killed in Iraq and whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters was ordered to pay the protesters’ appeal costs, his lawyers said Monday.
On Friday, Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered Snyder to pay $16,510 to Fred Phelps. Phelps is the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder’s funeral in 2006.
Seriously?! What lawyer, judge, decent human being would EVER come to the conclusion that ANYONE owes Westboro Baptist Church anything, but especially the Gold Star Father of a fallen Marine? According to the article, no reasons were given behind the decision, but that father should not have to pay a dime if this country has any wits left about it. I’m literally sickened to death by this.
I cannot believe this! I would go to jail before I paid that scum a dime.

The state of Kansas hired Freds daughter to work in social services and she works with children..Go figure that out, the state of Kansas has not the guts to stand against Fred & his pond scum.

EVERY SINGLE JUDGE at the Court of Appeals should be REMOVED FROM OFFICE for this decision. This man was already bleeding inside from his broken heart. To make him pay for the appeal costs is adding INSULT to INJURY. What an asinine ruling.
This guy lost his son in Iraq, had his son’s protested by lunatics, sues said lunatics, won a 10 mil judgment, had it cut to 5 mil on appeals, which are now going to the Supreme Court, and now he has to pay these lunatic’s appeals fees as well?
This is ourtrageous, and the judge should be removed form the bench.
We don’t have a justice system in this Country any more. We have a legal system where lawyers manipulate the law to serve an interest instead of serving common sense and justice. The sad part is the Westboro CULT has a member (the freaky leader’s bitter-spawn) who is a lawyer. She does not care about justice so she fits right in with court system. Thank God for our Patriot Guard Riders and all they do for our Gold Star families. They will protect them even when the legal system turns it’s back on them.
We have had them show up here too, got a state law passedtoforce them tokeep their distance. I believe a few might have fallen down by accident when there were no cameras around.
