‘A proposed bill in the state House could provide Michigan residents with a little bit more incentive to serve their country. The legislation, titled “Veterans Tuition Waiver Act,” would grant free tuition for certain qualified veterans of the U.S. armed forces. If passed, beginning in the 2008-2009 academic year, an eligible institution that agrees to participate in the program would waive tuition for veterans who enroll as full-time students in undergraduate classes. The veterans must be U.S. citizens, younger than 60 years old and Michigan residents for at least 12 months.’

Alot of my fellow soldiers have states thats have this and it really puts a big black eye in the state of michigan not to offer such services to students who loyaly lived there through the good and bad times joined the service and went off to war in suport of IOF and defended the united states and the great state of michigan. for other states to ofer someting like this and not ours deeply sadens me and i belive can cause combat veterans to move away from michigan to recive the benifit from others.
Please send information on how i can register. I am a disabled veteran who would like to re-enter the workforce with a skill.
