VA Benefits Continue to Improve
The Department of Veterans Affairs is constantly trying to find better ways to help Veterans in need. Recently, the VA implemented a program in Florida to try and gain greater accessibility to disabled Veterans. The program allows the VA to keep in contact with disabled Veterans in order to keep them apprised of their benefits and help them use these benefits in order to enjoy a higher quality of life.
Through this program, all Veteran have to do is agree that they want to be contacted the Veterans Benefits available to them and the VA will keep them posted on what they can apply for and any new benefits that become available to them. This makes the process of using their valuable benefits easier for Veterans. For example, many Veterans do not take full advantage of the VA's Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grants that offer disabled Veterans up to $50,000 to renovate their homes to meet the needs of their disabilities. If the Veteran is considered disabled by official VA terms, then the Veteran is entitled to SAH grant money to widen doorways, build ramps and first floor bedrooms and bathrooms, and much more. The problem is that many Veterans are intimidated by the process and paperwork necessary to gain access to this grant money.
Get Started With Your VA Loan Request
With the new VA program launched in Florida, the Veteran will be contacted by the VA and informed about and given assistance to take advantage of these programs, which will ultimately enable the Veteran to live a more independent lifestyle. Florida is just the first state to take part in this experimental program that hopes to bring Veterans more in touch with their entitlement to benefit programs offered by the VA and help them take advantage of these benefits.
