VA Updates: Los Angeles Office Closing
The VA tries to keep people well informed of any changes that might affect Military personnel or Veterans who are currently applying or plan to apply for benefits. One change that is about to take place is the closing of the Los Angeles Eligibility Center.
Previously, in order to get your Certificate of Eligibility processed, you could send your request to the Western U.S. Eligibility Center or the Eastern U.S. Eligibility Center, depending on where you lived. The VA has recently posted information stating that there will no longer be two service centers.
Get Started With Your VA Loan Request
Any Veteran requesting a Certificate of Eligibility must now send there completed forms and supporting documentation to the Winston-Salem Eligibility Center in North Carolina. If you have already mailed your information to the Los Angeles Eligibility Center, your request should be reveived in time. After January 1, 2006, the Loas Angeles location will no longer accept any requests.
The VA still encourages lenders to use the ACE program in order to process requests for a Certificate of Eligibility before they mail a paper copy request to the Winston-Salem Eligibility Center.
