AMERICAN HERO AWARD NOMINEE - Todd Parisi

SgtMajor Parisi recently completed his second deployment to Iraq where he and his Marines provided 24 hour, 7 day a week, security for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing forward Tactical Air Control Center in the Al Anbar Province. Todd commanded, motivated and inspired nothing less than 500 Marines to excel at every task and every mission for their seven month deployment to Iraq. Probably the greatest overall accomplishment of that deployment was that Todd brought 500 Marines back home with no injuries or worse.,/p>
SgtMajor Parisi has distinguished himself in a number of ways. He is the youngest Sniper Instructor in the history of the Marine Corps and was the top recruiter in New Hampshire during his tenure there as well as one of the top ten recruiters in the country. In addition, Todd made SgtMajor at the young age of 38! Following his return to North Carolina this fall, Todd received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service to the Marine Corps and country.
SgtMajor Todd M. Parisi's career as a U.S. Marine has been admirable. His actions reflect decisions that have been made with great consideration for all involved. I believe Todd is a person of character because he is trustworthy, treats others with respect, is caring, responsible, and a good citizen. Todd's life is a constant source of energy, strength, courage, and loyalty. His enthusiasm for life is enlivened by a strong family relationship with his wife and three children, his extended family, friends, supporters, and most importantly, his deep love of country.
