Many of the Military community members in Hampton Roads have a connection to the following Naval bases:
- Naval Station Norfolk - Also known as the Norfolk Navy Base
- Naval Air Station Oceana - Located in Virginia Beach
- Naval Medical Center Portsmouth - Longest-running Naval medical facility
