VA Loan Specialist - Ben Choi

I was raised in the St. Louis, the heart of the Midwest, but was born in New York, NY. My parents are both from Seoul, South Korea, yet instilled in me a strong sense of patriotism to the U.S., an even greater respect for the U.S. military, and appreciation for all they have done for their country. It is because of them my family was afforded the opportunity to move to this country, and for me to grow up a proud American. A genuine thank you is in order for all veterans and active duty service members for your service.

It was natural for me to attend a school in Missouri after growing up in St. Louis. I graduated with a degree in Finance and Banking, as well as cultivated a love for Missouri Tiger football and basketball. Anyone will tell you I am a die-hard fan of not just the Tigers, but of my hometown teams the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues. I am also an avid ‘foodie’, and love trying restaurants highlighted on the Food Network and Travel Channel. I have the privilege of sharing my faith, another important component of my life, each week at my church’s Sunday school.

I joined the Veterans United Home Loans team in 2003 as an intern while completing my undergrad. I then joined the company full-time as a Loan Officer after graduating in 2005. By 2008 I transitioned to the role of Processing Manager. While this was a great and insightful experience, I missed the chance to work with veterans and active duty service members one-on-one. It is because of this I chose to return to the Loan Officer position. My time in the industry has given me extensive knowledge in other loan programs besides VA, such as FHA and conventional programs. My extensive experience will ensure your home buying process will go as smoothly as possible. I look forward to working with you!
