VA Loan Specialist - Joe Choi

I was born in Seoul, South Korea and still have family residing there. At the ripe age of eight months, my family moved to New York City to pursue the “American Dream.” A couple years after coming to the USA, our family settled in St. Louis, where I lived for 17 years. I now consider myself a native of the Gateway to the West! I graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Economics and am 18 credits short of my Master’s in Accounting. After college, my first job was with Veterans United Home Loans and I have not looked back! I have also since become a Naturalized US Citizen (I hear Lee Greenwood in the background as I write this!).

My hobbies include following the local sports teams, which include the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams, and Blues, along with University of Missouri football and basketball. Living in a “smaller” city, I love to travel to visit friends, family or just to have a fun weekend with my fiancée Carol. I also love to play poker and consider myself to be a fairly good player. I would like to play in The World Series of Poker one day.

I have worked with over 4000 veterans since I started with Veterans United Home Loans. The majority of the loans I help veterans with are VA loans, but I have also guided veterans into other loan products. If another program is in the best interest of the veteran, such as FHA or conventional financing, I will let you know. Think of me as a tailor that custom fits you for an Italian suit. I will make sure that the type of loan you obtain not only works, but that the terms and conditions of the loan are tailor-fitted for you! I regularly receive referrals for friends and family of the veterans I have helped. I take great pride in the fact that so many veterans believe in the customer service that Veterans United Home Loans and I provide. I hope to provide this type of service to you as well.

This paragraph might be considered cliche but my sentiments are genuine. Being a Korean-American, I feel that the reason that I have been given such a great opportunity in life is due to the U.S. Military. I cannot imagine what life in Korea would be like if the U.S. Military did not intervene during the Korean War. I want to personally thank all veterans and active duty servicemen and women that serve(d) in Korea. I feel that I am in a position, working for Veterans United Home Loans, where I can give a small amount back to the servicemen and women that have sacrificed so much to allow me and so many other Koreans to be where we are today. I look forward to working with you!
