VA Loan Specialist - Billy Watkins

About me: I grew up in a small farm town called Memphis, Missouri. Early on, I learned a lot about hard work and obtained a respect for others while growing up with a great family in a very warm hearted community where everyone knows everyone.

After high school, I served our country in the military for six years. I was a search and rescue swimmer with a specialty in anti-submarine warfare with the US Navy. I was enlisted to officer through the Broadened Opportunities for Officer Selection and Training program in Newport Rhode Island after my tour on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN-69). My aircraft during search and recovery missions was the SH-60B and SH-60F helicopter during my Mediterranean cruise in 1999. Since the military, I have graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and continued to travel the country for my civilian career.

As you can tell from my own life, I am very appreciative of veterans and active duty personnel and would like to show my appreciation by working respectfully and diligently with you to ease the pressures of purchasing a home because the home buying process should be a fun and exciting time in your life!

On a daily basis, I get to enjoy the opportunity to help those who have already done so much for this great country realize their financial goals of purchasing a home by taking advantage of the VA home loan program.

My professional qualifications to provide you services: I am registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS # 384700) and have passed the Federal Licensing exam for the Secure and Fair Enforcement (S.A.F.E.) Mortgage Licensing Act and the state exams for California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, which allow me personally to originate loans in each of these states while my company is licensed in all 50 states, excluding Hawaii.

My accounting degree has allowed me to be flexible in the workforce so I have held various positions doing personal and corporate taxes and forensic litigation and consulting out of the Houston Texas area and audit services while I was based out of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

In 2010 I started working at Veterans United Home Loans. I enjoy helping those who have served our country, and I am honored to provide a service for those men and women who risk their lives every day. As you know by now, my current career adventure is to help those who have served our country realize the American dream of becoming a homeowner from our corporate office here in Columbia Missouri.
