EBay's bidding process is to provide the bidder the lowest cost up to their maximum bid. In the case of the "Intrepid..." $1.99 bid, the next bidder will automatically raise the price to the next increment to win the bid until their maximum bid is reached. I'm the next bidder for "Intrepid...", and if I win, I will be sending my maximum amount, not the winning bid. That said, if anyone wants that book, outbid me for this well deserving charity.
