Trace Adkins will sing “Til the Last Shot’s Fired” with the West Point Glee Club during the ACM Awards in Las Vegas on April 5. The performance is in support of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), which is the charity selected by the ACM’s charitable fund. The song appears on Adkins’ newest album, X. Profits from digital downloads of the song on iTunes will benefit the WWP. “It’s a privilege to perform this song with such a distinguished choir for the great servicemen and women in whose honor it was written,” said Adkins. “We should always let our military know how much we appreciate them putting their lives on the line for us every day. The WWP provides an incredible service to those wounded in combat, so it’s an honor to donate proceeds of the performance downloads to support this important and worthy charity.”

I am a 22 year veteran and my wife retired as Navy Nurse. Trace’s performance tonight on the ACM Awards left both of us with tears streaming down our cheeks. I felt both proud and sad at the same time. Thank you Trace, but most of all, Thank You to the Marine Captain and all the other brave men and woman who have sacrificed their lives and bodies for their brothers and this still great country. Semper Fi!

  3. My grandson was one of the Wounded Warriors sitting on the front row there tonite and I just have to say “Thank You, Trace Adkins” from the bottom of my heart for raising awareness and honoring those who serve. The Wounded Warrior Project is one of the best things that has happened to the Marine Corps. It benefits so many brave men and women who have given their all for our country. Everything we can do for them is very appreciated. Again, Thank You, Trace!

Thank you so much for this song which as a mother of a young marine serving currently in Afgahistan, it was difficult to listen to. But I know that these men and women who come home deserve to be reconized, and honored every single day! It is people like you Trace Adkins that help bring awarness to the people of this country. A heartfelt song with true meaning which will touch many and send a message that our Brave marines and soliders deserve the upmost respect for the honor, courage and commitment they have given this country. God Bless America and god bless you !

thank you trace for taking this stand for our wounded warriors. as a three tour nam vet, all we got in stead of a thank you, we got spit upon and called baby killers. this country needs to get up and stand behind people as our selves and the families who have lost loved one, or have these wounded warriors in their families. once again, thanks from a nam vet.

  7. Thank you for supporting us. My Wife and I are Iraq War Veterans
and your song touched us so much. Thank you

  8. Please send info on where to donate $$$.Address.

  9. Please send us all the info we need to start contributing to the wounded warriors at the beginning of 2011. Thank you for all your work and effort from you for our fellow troops. I am a 21 year vetern from 1958 through 1979 with the United States Air Force. I honor our troops today and admire their grit for continuing to continually being sent back several times. I honestly don’t know if I would have had that kind of grit. I served in Viet Nam for a year and then a year in Korea; but there was so war in Korea at the time. My hat goes off to my fellow comrades!!

  12. Hey Trace, how about writing and singing a song about stopping these endless wars against the Muslim world?

Haven’t we killed enough people to satisfy our vengeance after 9/11 or do we need to kill some more?

The only ones benefiting from these wars are Wall Street and Israel. They’re not helping our country, in fact, it’s just the opposite. Each day, more and more people world-wide start to hate us for being stone cold killers and we’re spending ourselves into oblivion.

Or we could just sit back, do nothing, except to watch WWE and wait until our economy implodes, then you’ll have plenty of material to write about, but no one will have any money to buy your albums.

  14. My husband has tried to contact wounded warriors and left messages and no one has bothered to contact him. I thought wounded warriors project was for the wounded soldiers and veterans of this country. So disappointed in knowing that this project might just be for publicity. It has been three weeks and 6 calls and no answer. I thought we would have a prompt response. I hope we are not the only ones having this problem. Thank you.
