A group of Iraqi Soldiers stepped up to help California residents victimized by recent wildfires raging throughout the state. Iraqi Army Col. Abbas Fadhil, Besmaya Range Complex commander, and his team of ‘Abbas’ Eagles’ raised $500 for wildfire relief.
‘We want to send a message to the American president and the American people,’ said Abbas. ‘We feel that we are a family – one body. When one part of the body suffers, the other parts suffer too.’
This is the fourth donation the Soldiers of Besmaya have sent to the American people recently. In September, they raised $1500 for victims of hurricanes Gustav and Ike. The Eagles also donated $500 to the National September 11th Memorial.
You may not think that $500 is a lot of money, but consider that it totals about an entire month’s pay for higher ranking Iraqi Soldiers. I would equate this to about a $5000 donation if it came from us.

This is awesome. Even as long ago as Hurricane Katrina, I remember reading about some Iraqi soldiers who worked with some of our Soldiers from Mississippi and Louisiana getting together a donation to be sent to the US. It was small in some respects, but considering their situation, it was HUGE! I’m grateful for their heart.
I agree, this is just awesome! To think that they care enough about Americans and what we are going through over here. They are to be commended for their generous spirits!
Yes awesome. Why can’t I hear of things like this on the news and in the papers. God Bless them for their attitudes to the States. This is a win win situation.
Dear Iraqian,
God said: If a man/woman is rich such as a billionnair he/she took out in his/her pocket a million dollar to donate to the victim is a normal situation. An other person in his/her pocket has only one dollar for lunch, when he/she heard many people victim by earthquake, hurrican, and flood!. He/she automatically took out one dollar in his/her pocket donate to the victim, this must be a great God accepted and count for that person forever.
