If it wasn't for these men, The greatest army in the world might not have existed. Those men in Viet Nam and in Iraq and Afghanistan gave the ultimate sacrifice along with their brothers in arms to ensure that peace is kept in the States. We as soldiers and as Americans should not allow their deaths to be in vein, we shall overcome this war and bring peace to those regions. Benning, GA, for the 173d Airborne Brigade National Memorial that will be built on a piece of American soil. The names of the 1,643 "Sky Soldiers" that died in Viet Nam and the names of 69 "Sky Soldiers" that died in Iraq and Afghanistan will be on the 173d Memorial.
