Hi Chris,

This is your Grandpa's sister, Mary. You are doing a terific job with my brother's story of his life. I am learning some new things. But do remember writing to him at the different addresses in the states, etc. Keep up the good work and will be looking forward to the next installment.

What am I? - great aunt Mary.

Yup, that would be great aunt Mary. Thanks for reading. I hope you've been able to read the other two stories. I think I'll have one or two more stories to write before I sort of wrap everything up into a personal parallel. It's been a lot of fun learning a little more about grandpa. I feel bad that I didn't take such an interest when he was around or ask all the questions that are now floating around my head. I get a better sense of why he felt the way he did about not wanting me to go back to Iraq.

CJ,
I once hurt his feelings because he wanted to show me some stuff from his reunions and military days and I told him that stuff didn't interest me. Whew .....would I love to sit down with him now for an hour! Thanks CJ....what you are doing by telling this story is exactly what he would be proud of.....going that extra step and showing you care. He loved that kind of stuff!

Hey CJ... I never heard this story before! I remember him saying he was stationed down here and could have bought a swamp lot for like a buck (I'm being facitious, but I remember it was cheap) which is now Punta Gorda Isles!!! Anyways, good story! Thanks!
