We received the Navy Expeditionary medal awarded as soon as we began the return. My friend who was a ranger on site at Desert One can not even prove he was there. He wants to join the VFW and I was told if he ever set foot in Iran he was eligible. Why no recognition for those guys?? The only medals the army gave were Purple Hearts.
