I am now 60 yrs old and have worked in the oil field for 36 yrs. I get a small pension of $475/mo from a previous employer and have about $60k in my ira. I am worried because my health is deteriorating fast and don't know if I can do another 5 yrs in the oil field. Would I be eligible for any kind of VA assistance even though I don't have any ailments due to my service activity? My wife will be 60 in Sept. of this year and doesn't work.
