BAH Mortgage Loan Calculator

Basic Allowance for Housing, or BAH, is a monthly stipend that service members can use to cover housing costs, including mortgage payments. BAH rates are set annually and are based on several factors, including your pay grade, your duty location and whether you have children.

Our 2010 BAH calculator can help you determine what kind of mortgage payment you can afford.

The BAH calculator examines some of those key factors that determine your allowance and generates an estimated loan amount. You may be able to afford a larger loan depending on your total income and other financial factors.

Service members who live in more expensive areas will usually have higher BAHs. These allowances can change each year, but service members are protected in the event a decrease creates a gap in housing costs.

The BAH Calculator will assist you in determining how much you can afford to spend for a house.

This calculator will take into account the various factors that is used to determine an estimation of your BAH and then uses that to determine the cost of a home for which you could qualify.

The BAH is influenced by housing costs in local civilian housing markets and is payable when government quarters are not provided. If you are a uniformed service member stationed overseas, including U.S. protectorates, you are not eligible for BAH, but are available for Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA).
